De Ligt comments on exit speculation
Matthijs de Ligt has reflected on the speculation surrounding his future at Bayern Munich, which arose when he wasn't a regular starter earlier in the season.
Matthijs de Ligt has become a regular starter for Bayern in 2024, starting 10 of Bayern's last 12 games in all competitions.
In the first half of the season, however, there was constant speculation about the Dutchman's future at Bayern as he didn't start regularly.
In an interview with Voetbal International, de Ligt has now played down the speculation, saying:
"I think it mainly has to do with the expectations from outside. If I don't play, it's immediately assumed that I'm not happy and want to leave," he said:
"Of course there have been matches I would have liked to play, but I really have no reason to complain. I'm still having a great time at Bayern Munich and have been playing again recently. I never let the rumors get in my head because I know what the reality is."
