Report: Dortmund have made an offer for Werder star Maximilian Eggestein

Borussia Dortmund have reportedly tabled an offer for Werder Bremen's Maximilian Eggestein.
Borussia Dortmund have made Werder Bremen's Maximilian Eggestein 'a concrete offer', Bild reports.

However, the German news outlet understands that it's unlikely that Eggestein will leave Werder this summer as he would like to stay at Weserstadion for at least another season to develop further.

The 22-year-old is said to be inclined to extend his contract with Werder which runs until 2020. In that case, it's conceivable that the new contract will include an exit clause which makes it possible for the midfielder to leave in the summer of 2020.

Eggestein feels well under Werder coach Florian Kohfeldt and enjoys playing with his brother Johannes. At the same time, the big competition in Dortmund's midfield is said to be a concern for him at this point.

The central midfielder has made 28 appearances for Werder this season with six goals and four assists to his name.
