Official: Hoffenheim name Julian Nagelsmann's successor

Ajax assistant coach Alfred Schreuder has been named the new head coach of Hoffenheim. He will take over from Julian Nagelsmann in the summer.
Hoffenheim have announced that Alfred Schreuder will take over the job as the club's head coach from RB Leipzig-bound Julian Nagelsmann this summer.

The 46-year-old, who's the current assistant coach of Ajax, has signed a contract until 2022 and joins after the season.

"I'm looking very much forward to the task in Hoffenheim, and I'm aware of the great challenge, but that's exactly what I find particularly appealing," Schreuder said, as quoted by the club.

Hoffenheim boss Alexander Rosen said:

"We worked intensively and peacefully on the implementation of an optimal solution for us, and we're very happy to be able to announce the facts now."

Schreuder already knows the club well as he worked as an assistant coach at Hoffenheim from October 2015 to January 2018.
