Löw praises Reus: 'He has certainly matured'

Joachim Löw waxes lyrical about Borussia Dortmund's Marco Reus.
Germany coach Joachim Löw has hailed Borussia Dortmund captain Marco Reus and his development.

Reus was made Borussia Dortmund captain prior to this season, and Löw feels the increased responsibility has made the 29-year-old grow.

"He has certainly matured, because he takes more responsibility. He has a really good position and enjoys respect," Löw told DPA.

Löw also lamented the fact that Reus has had so many injury problems throughout his career.

"Unfortunately, Marco has been missing insanely often, so he has only rarely been part of the team for the past seven or eight years," Löw said and added:

"If you take his qualities and his great class as a benchmark, we could have used him in many games."

Reus has appeared 38 times for Germany, scoring 10 goals.
