Report: Dortmund reach 'agreement in principle' with Nico Schulz

Hoffenheim's Nico Schulz is reportedly set to join Borussia Dortmund in the summer.
Borussia Dortmund have reached 'an agreement in principle' with Hoffenheim's Nico Schulz over a summer transfer, Sport Bild reports.

The German news outlet claims that Schulz has a release clause of €20-25 million in his contract with Hoffenheim which runs until 2021.

BVB coach Lucien Favre is keen on bringing in a new left-back as neither the aging Marcel Schmelzer nor Jeremy Toljan, who is currently on loan at Celtic, are part of his plans for the future.

In Schulz, the BVB bosses see a dynamic and offensive full-back who's also reliable defensively.

Meanwhile, Dortmund have also been linked with Atlético Madrid's Filipe Luis. BVB boss Hans-Joachim Watzke recently confirmed an interest in the Brazilian left-back, but the 33-year-old is in favor of a move to Barcelona or his home country, according to Sport Bild.
