Erik Durm wants to return to the Bundesliga

Erik Durm has revealed that he's keen on a move back to the Bundesliga.
Former Borussia Dortmund full-back Erik Durm eyes a return to the Bundesliga after leaving Huddersfield Town following their relegation from the English Premier League.

"I want to go back home to the Bundesliga, although I can imagine two or three other possibilities. If something was to happen with good clubs in Spain or Italy, that would be conceivable. But the Bundesliga has priority," Durm said in an interview with Kicker.

Durm has the option to extend his expiring contract with Huddersfield, but the 27-year-old rules out doing so.

"I don't know where I'm going to play yet. Triggering the option is out of question since I told Huddersfield that I don't want to play in the second league," he said.

He also confirmed that his former coach David Wagner has shown an interest in bringing him to Schalke 04.

"'Dave' has shown me great support. I have a great relationship with him. I can say that there were talks," Durm said.

According to reports, however, Durm turned down the offer from 'The Royal Blues'.
