Official: Stuttgart sign Kobel on loan

VfB Stuttgart have announced the signing of Gregor Kobel on loan from Hoffenheim.
Gregor Kobel will join VfB Stuttgart on loan from Hoffenheim, the two clubs have announced.

The goalkeeper, who spent the second half of last season on loan at FC Augsburg, has signed a one-year loan deal with the Swabian club who were relegated from the Bundesliga in the 2018/19 season.

"Gregor fits our requirement profile for the goalkeeper position. He's one of the most talented goalkeepers in his age group and has made name for himself in recent months with oustanding performances," said Stuttgart sporting director Sven Mislintat, as quoted by the club.

Gregor Kobel, 21, said:

"I'm delighted that the move to Stuttgart has worked out, because I see this as the best opportunity for me to develop further. VfB are a large, tradition-rich club that have set the clear goal of winning promotion to the Bundesliga this season. I will do everything I can to ensure that we achieve this goal."
