Gladbach and Schalke set for Embolo negotiations

Gladbach and Schalke 04 are set for negotiations over a deal for Breel Embolo.
Borussia Mönchengladbach hope they will be able to strike a deal with Schalke 04 for Breel Embolo who has been identified as a top target by new Gladbach coach Marco Rose.

The Swiss international visited Borussia-Park last week and is keen on a fresh start in Gladbach. But it seems the two clubs are currently far apart in their valuation of the striker.

According to Sport Bild, Gladbach are willing to pay a base fee of around €10 million for Embolo, but Schalke demand twice as much for him.

The two clubs could partially compensate for the difference in the form of bonus payments which would depend on Embolo's performances and success at Gladbach.

Schalke paid €26.5 million to sign Embolo from Basel in 2016. His contract runs until 2021.
