Baumann considers Gregoritsch too expensive for Werder

It doesn't look like Werder Bremen can afford Michael Gregoritsch this summer.
Werder Bremen have shown an interest in signing Augsburg's Michael Gregoritsch who is reportedly keen on a move to Weserstadion as well.

Nevertheless, it doesn't look like a transfer will happen this summer. Augsburg are demanding a transfer fee in the two-digit million range for the 25-year-old - and that's more than Werder can afford to pay.

"Regardless of names, a transfer of this magnitude is completely unrealistic for us this year," Werder sporting director Frank Baumann told Kicker.

"We don't expect to receive an income in the two-digit million range, because we don't want to sell our top players," he added.

Werder have already spent €10 million on Niclas Füllkrug and Marco Friedl this summer. Meanwhile, 'The Green-Whites' haven't made any sales yet, but have seen the likes of Max Kruse and Aron Johansson leave the club free of charge.
