Kevin Volland hits out at 'black-and-white' public perception
Kevin Volland isn't too concerned with the public assessment of his performances.
Bayer Leverkusen star Kevin Volland feels football players' performances are often assessed in a too simplistic manner.
"You get the impression that if you score a goal, then you played well. If you don't score a goal, then you played badly. That's public perception. It's very black-and-white," Volland told t-online.de.
Therefore, Volland argues, it's more important that "your team, your coaching team and your closest friends know what you can do. And that's the case in our team. We focus on that and let everything else fade out a bit."
Volland scored 15 goals and made 16 assists for Leverkusen in 42 appearances in the 2018/19 season.
