Julian Brandt: 'I'm not one to let myself down'

Julian Brandt feels confident he will make his breakthrough at Borussia Dortmund with time.
Julian Brandt has struggled to nail down a regular starting berth at Borussia Dortmund after his summer move from Bayer Leverkusen and recently admitted that he considers his current situation 'difficult'.

But the 23-year-old is confident that he will eventually make his mark at Signal Iduna Park.

"I have patience with myself and also with the club. It's not like I have no confidence. I believe that my time will come and that one has the feeling that I have really arrived now. Not every beginning is perfect, and that's what I'm learning at the moment. But I'm not one to let myself down," Brandt told Bild.

Brandt has scored just once for his new club so far and feels that getting on the scoresheet again could help him a lot.

"It's important that I make the breakthrough and score again. That would be good for me. Sometimes it's crazy in football. When you score, the spell is broken, and suddenly many things are working again," the German international said.
