Thomas Delaney believes the Bundesliga will be a three-horse race this season

Thomas Delaney believes there are three contenders for the Bundesliga title this season.
Borussia Dortmund midfielder Thomas Delaney expects to compete for the Bundesliga title with Bayern München and RB Leipzig this season.

Just four points separate league leaders Gladbach from eighth-placed Dortmund after the first seven games of the season, but Delaney feels the race for the championship will be narrowed down to three contenders as the season progresses.

"I don't think that eight teams will be competing to win the league. It can't go on like this. I still see Bayern, RB Leipzig and us as the three strongest teams," Delaney told Danish football news outlet Bold.dk and added:

"I've always thought highly of Leverkusen as well. We have thrashed them every time I have faced them with Dortmund, but they are playing some great football and are a dangerous team too.

"Schalke have also proven to be a strong team this season. But I still expect it to be between us, Bayern and Leipzig."

Bayern München won the Bundesliga title for the seventh time in a row last season, two points clear of Dortmund and 12 points ahead of RB Leipzig.
