FC Köln chief Armin Veh to leave the club at the end of the season

Armin Veh will step down from his position as managing director of FC Köln at the end of the season.
Armin Veh will leave his position as managing director of FC Köln when his contract expires this summer, the club have announced.

Veh has decided to step down from the position at the end of the season due to personal reasons.

"I've been in professional football for more than 30 years and had discussions and thoughts about the future, that I won't plan further than the summer and don't want to commit myself to such an important job," Veh said in an interview on the club's website.

"FC are a special club with special employees. Therefore, it's also important for me that we have clarity. FC now have the ability to plan and enough time to find the right man to succeed me. I will do everything to make sure FC achieves our goals. We now must concentrate on remaining in the Bundesliga," he added.

The 58-year-old was appointed managing director of FC Köln in December 2017.
