Rudi Völler blasts Leon Bailey over 'stupid' red card

Leon Bailey is set to be fined by Bayer Leverkusen for being sent off against Borussia Mönchengladbach on Saturday.
Bayer Leverkusen boss Rudi Völler has taken a swipe at Leon Bailey after the winger was sent off in Saturday's 1-2 loss to Borussia Mönchengladbach.

Much to the frustration of Völler, Bailey was shown a straight red card deep into injury time for kicking out at Gladbach's Patrick Herrmann.

"That was stupid and completely unnecessary. He will have to pay for that," Völler told Kicker.

According to Bild, Bailey is likely to be fined around €10,000 by the club for the incident.

The 22-year-old only just returned after he was sidelined for more than a month due to injury.
