RB Leipzig boss: Ethan Ampadu will not return early to Chelsea

RB Leipzig boss Oliver Mintzlaff is adamant to keep Chelsea loanee Ethan Ampadu until the end of the season.
RB Leipzig have no intention of terminating Ethan Ampadu's loan spell, says the club's CEO, Oliver Mintzlaff.

Ampadu has played just 66 minutes under RB Leipzig coach Julian Nagelsmann since he made the move to Germany from Chelsea on a season-long loan deal in the summer, but Mintzlaff feels confident the 19-year-old will get more chances as the season progresses.

"An early return is not an option. Julian Nagelsmann will continue to develop Ethan in training, so that he will certainly still get his time on the pitch during this long season," Mintzlaff told Bild.

The 19-year-old has come on as a substitute in each of RB Leipzig's last two Bundesliga games.
