Marcus Thuram opens up on 'special' first meeting with Gladbach coach Marco Rose

Marcus Thuram has had a great relationship with Gladbach coach Marco Rose since their first meeting in the summer.
Marcus Thuram reveals his first meeting with Gladbach coach Marco Rose made a lasting impression on him.

Thuram met with Rose ahead of his summer move from Guingamp, and the the striker quickly found out that the Gladbach coach is different from the other coaches he has worked with.

"It was a special meeting for me. For the first time, I talked to a coach about football without feeling like a student who was just listening," Thuram said in an interview with Sport Bild and added:

"Coaches are usually very authoritarian and firm during such conversations. But with Marco, it was different. It was a conversation at eye level. We exchanged opinions and discussed a lot of things. That was really cool. That's why I'm so happy to see him almost every day now.

"He's a good guy. He's very clear and dominant when needed. But he can also be entertaining. What I like is that Marco lives and breathes football. He's always 100 percent passionate about every training session. And sometimes, he's even crazier than I am," Thuram said.

Thuram, Rose and Gladbach take on Paderborn at home on Wednesday evening.
