Nagelsmann eyes 'autumn title'

Julian Nagelsmann is hopeful that RB Leipzig will go into the winter break as league leaders.
RB Leipzig coach Julian Nagelsmann wants to guarantee the autumn 'Herbstmeister' title - an unofficial honor for the team that lead the Bundesliga at the winter break - with a win over Augsburg on Saturday.

"Basically, it's always a nice feeling when you look at the table at Christmas time and see the crest and name of your own club at the top. But the DFL (Deutsche Fußball Liga) will probably not be willing to award us half a trophy," Nagelsmann told reporters.

"It would mean that if we win all 17 games in the second half of the season, we will definitely be top of the table. Having things in your own hands is not so bad," he added.

'Die Roten Bullen' are on the same amount of points as second-placed Gladbach, but sit top of the Bundesliga thanks to a superior goal difference.
