Robert Lewandowski hails the influence of Jürgen Klopp

Robert Lewandowski waxes lyrical about Jürgen Klopp and says the former Borussia Dortmund coach has played a key role in his career.
Bayern München star Robert Lewandowski has hailed Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp as one of the main factors behind his development.

Lewandowski, who played under Klopp at Borussia Dortmund from 2010 to 2014, told Polish media outlet Prawda Futbolu, as quoted by Bundesliga.com:

"I joined Dortmund as a young player and initially it wasn't easy.

"Obviously Jürgen wasn't my dad, but in different ways he sort of adopted that role. He was one of the main factors behind my development and he opened the door to the big wide world of football for me.

"He's got charisma and knows how to create the right atmosphere in a team. On top of that, he's able to find the right balance between fun and more serious criticism. He's a coach you'd run through fire for," Lewandowski said.

The Polish striker scored 103 goals in 187 appearances for Dortmund before joining Bayern München in 2014.
