Kingsley Coman will be out for longer than initially expected, Bayern München have announced.

The French winger, who suffered a knee injury in the middle of December, will definitely not recover in time for Bayern's two first games after the winter break against Hertha BSC and Schalke 04.

Serge Gnabry is also sidelined for the time being due to an ongoing achilles tendon problem. The 24-year-old won't be able to take part in Bayern's team training during their training camp in Qatar which comes to an end on Friday.

Bayern return to Bundesliga action next week, facing Hertha BSC away from home on January 19.
