Bayer Leverkusen coach Peter Bosz has signed a contract extension until 2022, the club have announced.

The 56-year-old's deal was due to run out at the end of the season, but he has now committed his future to 'Die Werkself' by penning a new contract.

"We greatly appreciate Peter Bosz's daily work here at Bayer 04. He wants the same thing as we do, namely playing attractive and above all successful football," said Leverkusen chief Fernando Carro.

"We have ambitious goals and are convinced that we can achieve them with Peter Bosz as our head coach," he added.

Bosz was appointed Leverkusen coach in December 2018, replacing Heiko Herrlich.
