Suat Serdar won't be fit for Schalke's clash with Mainz

Schalke 04 will be without Suat Serdar for their Bundesliga game against Mainz.
Suat Serdar won't be able to make his return from injury when Schalke face Mainz away from home in the Bundesliga on Sunday.

The central midfielder has missed Schalke's last two games due to an ankle injury that is still keeping him sidelined.

"All our long-term absentees will be missing for Mainz. Suat Serdar is also unavailable. Markus Schubert probably won't make it, as he only trained for the first time again yesterday," said Schalke coach David Wagner at a press conference today, as quoted by the club.

"We think he'll be an option for Leipzig after another week's rest. He's a really important player for us, and it's a shame for him that he can't play in Mainz," he added.

Meanwhile, Jonjoe Kenny seems likely to make his return while Ozan Kabak is a doubt.

"Jonjoe Kenny is back training, while we're unsure about Ozan Kabak. Despite his young age, he understands his body well. We'll have to wait and see - he's not ruled out yet," said Wagner.
