Leverkusen boss won't rule out Havertz departure

"We'll see how it looks in the summer," Bayer Leverkusen boss Rudi Völler says about Kai Havertz's future.
Bayer Leverkusen boss Rudi Völler is 'glad' that Kai Havertz didn't leave the club ahead of this season.

"There was interest in the summer, but we explained it would be good for him to stay with us for another year. And that was the right decision. I'm glad we kept him for another year," Völler told RTL Nitro.

Last year, Völler was quick to underline that Havertz would be staying at BayArena for the 2019/20 season, but he's not willing to make a similar promise for next season.

"He still has a contract until 2022, these are of course the classic facts. We'll see how it looks in the summer," Völler said.

According to reports, Leverkusen have slapped a price tag of €130 million on Havertz who has been linked with the likes of Bayern München and Liverpool.
