Amine Harit unhappy with bench role at Schalke

Amine Harit was one of Schalke 04's stand-out performers in the first half of the season.

But after going through a dip in form, the 22-year-old found himself on the bench for Saturday's 1-1 draw with Hoffenheim as Schalke lined up in a 3-4-3 instead of their usual 4-2-3-1.

And speaking after the game, which saw Harit come on after 76 minutes, the offensive midfielder didn't shy away from the fact that he doesn't like sitting on the bench.

"I would be lying if I said I was happy," Harit said.

Schalke coach David Wagner said he expects Harit to return to the line-up again with time.

"Amine knows that he hasn't done anything wrong at all. He knows it's a period. Of course he wants to play, but he also knows that his position doesn't exist in this system," Wagner told reporters.
