Report: Bayern remain keen on Leroy Sané

Bayern München still want to bring in Leroy Sané from Manchester City in the summer.
Bayern München sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic met with Leroy Sané's agency, LIAN SPORTS, last week to discuss a possible summer transfer, according to Sport Bild.

Although Bayern could lose up to €100 million due to the coronavirus outbreak, Salihamidzic is willing to spend big to bring the Manchester City winger to Munich in the summer.

Bayern are understood to be willing to offer Sané a five-year deal, but could face hefty competition for his signature, with clubs such as Real Madrid and FC Barcelona threatening to join the race for the German international. According to Sport Bild, Sané has received two concrete offers from top clubs.

While Salihamidzic has identified Sané as his top target, Bayern München coach Hansi Flick prefers RB Leipzig star Timo Werner. However, Salihamidzic isn't keen on Werner as he doesn't believe he fits into the playing style at Bayern. Under all circumstances, Bayern will not be bringing in both Sané and Werner, as per Sport Bild.

Meanwhile, Salihamidzic and Flick would both like to see Kai Havertz come to Munich. Whether the Bayer Leverkusen youngster actually will end up at Bayern in the summer will probably be a question of money.

Leverkusen are still hoping to get at least €100 million for the highly-rated midfielder. But Bayern are hopeful it will be possible to negotiate the price down as they doubt that Havertz's other suitors such as FC Barcelona and Liverpool will be willing to meet Leverkusen's price tag.
