Union goalkeeper Rafal Gikiewicz claims he has turned down interest from Hertha

Rafal Gikiewicz claims he rejected the chance to discuss a potential move with Hertha BSC.
Union Berlin goalkeeper Rafal Gikiewicz has revealed he has turned down a meeting with Hertha BSC about a potential summer move.

Gikiewicz claims that he was offered to hold talks with the Hertha bosses by a former professional footballer, who lives in Berlin and has good contacts at Hertha.

But the 32-year-old, who is out of contract in the summer, declined the offer as a move to Union's local rivals is out of the question for him.

"I said no. No money could make me sell what I achieved with Union," Gikiewicz said during the Polish tv show 'Eleven Call Live', according to SID.

"Although Hertha would probably be able to offer me a much bigger offer than Union, it's not something I would do, because for me in life, other values are more important than money," he added.

The Polish goalkeeper joined Union from Freiburg in 2018.
