Will FC Köln be able to hold on to Jhon Cordoba?

Jhon Cordoba says he's not currently thinking about extending his contract beyond 2021 amid the coronavirus pandemic, but underlines that he feels very well at FC Köln.
FC Köln striker Jhon Cordoba says he's not currently thinking about a potential contract extension due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Negotiations over an extension of Cordoba's deal, which runs until 2021, are said to have started, but the striker claims there is nothing new to report for now.

"There is no new status. I'm not thinking about it right now. The current situation is very strange, many things are uncertain. I still have one year left of my contract in Köln, so that's the starting position for now," Cordoba told Express.de.

Cordoba has been in excellent form this season, scoring 11 goals in 23 appearances. The 26-year-old will surely have caught the eye of other clubs with his performances, but it doesn't seem out of the question that he could sign a new deal with FC Köln.

"My family and I feel totally at home in Köln. I hope that we will find a solution as soon as possible and make the best decision for everyone," Cordoba said.
