Agent on Mario Götze's future: 'I'm having many constructive discussions'

Mario Götze's agent, Reza Fazeli, is working hard to find a new employer for the midfielder, who wants to depart Borussia Dortmund on a free transfer this summer.
Mario Götze's agent, Reza Fazeli, says he's having 'many constructive discussions' about his client's future.

Asked if he believes the corona crisis makes it more difficult for him to find a new club for the 27-year-old, who wants to leave Borussia Dortmund when his contract expires this summer, Fazeli told Kicker:

"It's not more difficult, but different. I'm already having many constructive discussions. But it will take time."

Götze's contract runs out on June 30, but if the season continues beyond that date, Fazeli expects the midfielder to stay until it has been concluded.

"I can't imagine that any player wouldn't be prepared to finish the season at his current club. I think that in any case, there will be an agreement to extend the contract for a few weeks," he said.

Götze has made 19 appearances for Dortmund this season, racking up three goals and one assist.
