Rummenigge 'confident' that Manuel Neuer will sign a contract extension

Bayern boss Karl-Heinz Rummenigge remains optimistic that Manuel Neuer will sign a new deal.
Bayern München CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge is 'confident' that Manuel Neuer will be signing a contract extension in the near future.

The German champions have offered a new contract to Neuer, whose current contract expires in 2021, and Rummenigge is positive the 34-year-old will put pen to paper on a new deal.

"Manuel Neuer and FC Bayern is a marriage that will probably continue," Rummenigge said in an interview with Sky and continued:

"I'm confident that Manuel will accept our offer soon and extend his contract."

Neuer joined Bayern from Schalke 04 in 2011.
