Robert Lewandowski on target as Bayern beat Union
Robert Lewandowski was back from injury and scored the opening goal as Bayern München beat Union Berlin 0-2.
Reigning German champions Bayern München re-opened the gap to Borussia Dortmund to four points at the top of the Bundesliga table with a 0-2 win over Union Berlin at the Stadion An der Alten Försterei on Sunday.
The guests, who were dominant in possession from start to finish, had a goal disallowed for offside midway through the first half after Thomas Müller had poked the ball into the back of net.
Bayern then went ahead through Robert Lewandowski, who made his return from a shinbone injury to score from the penalty spot with 40 minutes on the clock after Neven Subotic fouled Leon Goretzka in the penalty area.
After the break, the guests were looking to put the game to bed and eventually doubled their lead with 10 minutes remaining when Benjamin Pavard powered a header home after a corner to earn the Bavarians a 0-2 victory.
