Dortmund sweat over Mats Hummels fitness ahead of Bayern clash
Mats Hummels was forced off with an injury in Borussia Dortmund's 2-0 win over Wolfsburg.
Borussia Dortmund are sweating over the fitness of Mats Hummels ahead of Tuesday's top-of-the-table clash against Bayern München at Signal Iduna Park.
The experienced centre-back was forced off at the break in Dortmund's 2-0 win over Wolfsburg on Saturday.
"I briefly spoke with the doctor. Mats has an issue with his Achilles tendon. We hope he can play again on Tuesday," said BVB sporting director Michael Zorc after the game.
After their win on Saturday, second-placed Dortmund are just one point behind league leaders Bayern München before the reigning champions face Eintracht Frankfurt this evening.
