Werder boss Frank Baumann backs Davie Selke to rediscover his confidence

Davie Selke needs a boost in confidence to start scoring goals again, says Werder Bremen boss Frank Baumann.
Werder Bremen boss Frank Baumann admits that Davie Selke needs to rediscover his confidence in front of goal.

Selke still hasn't found the net in the Bundesliga following his January move from Hertha BSC, and Baumann believes the striker needs a boost in confidence to find his scoring touch.

"Davie is a player, who relies on his confidence, which is something he has been missing a bit. Once things click for him, he will appear completely different," Baumann told Bild.

The striker came through the youth ranks at Werder and netted 10 times in 36 games before joining RB Leipzig in 2015.

After moving on to Hertha in 2017, he returned to Bremen in January on a loan deal until 2021, which will be made permanent if certain conditions are met.
