Official: Christian Streich extends deal as Freiburg coach
Christian Streich has renewed his deal as Freiburg coach.
The longest serving head coach in the Bundesliga, Christian Streich, has signed a contract extension with Freiburg, the club have announced.
The Bundesliga side haven't released details about the length of the new deal for Streich, who was appointed Freiburg head coach in December 2011.
"We’re so happy to be able to continue down this path with Christian Streich. He lives for this team and he shares all the same philosophies that we do,” said Freiburg sporting director Jochen Saier in a statement.
Christian Streich said:
“We didn’t have to negotiate for long, because I’m in such a special situation to be able to be at this club. I’m not saying it’s better than everywhere else, but it's somewhere special to me. I’m really looking forward to developing my relationship with these players out on the pitch and improving year on year.”
