Schalke 04 reportedly nearing a deal to sign Alexander Schwolow from Freiburg

Schalke 04 remain hopeful of signing Alexander Schwolow and are understood to have tabled an offer of around €6 million for the Freiburg goalkeeper.
Schalke 04 have made an offer of around €6 million for SC Freiburg goalkeeper Alexander Schwolow, according to a report from Sport Bild.

A few weeks ago, Bild reported that Schalke had agreed personal terms with the 28-year-old, who is understood to have a €8 million release clause in his contract.

'The Royal Blues' have also been linked with Sven Ulreich, but have turned down the chance to sign the 31-year-old from Bayern München, as per the report.

Should Schwolow arrive at Veltins-Arena, it's unlikely that Schalke 04 will keep both Ralf Fährmann, who will return from loan, and Markus Schubert, who failed to convince when he was given the chance in the second half of the 2019/20 season.
