Report: Kai Havertz edging closer to Chelsea move

Kai Havertz is said to be edging closer to a move to Chelsea, who are understood to be the only club willing to pay Bayer Leverkusen's asking price for the 21-year-old.
Chelsea are closing in on the signing of Kai Havertz from Bayer Leverkusen, according to a report from The Athletic.

Havertz is said be keen on a move to 'The Blues' after having talked to Chelsea manager Frank Lampard.

It has previously been claimed that Leverkusen are holding out for a fee of at least €100 million for the highly-rated youngster.

However, 'Die Werkself' could be persuaded to sell Havertz for €80 million, as per The Athletic, who claims that Chelsea are the only club willing to meet the 21-year-old's asking price.

Havertz, who is under contract with Leverkusen until 2022, made 43 appearances for the German club in the 2019/20 season, racking up 17 goals and nine assists.
