Thomas Meunier eyes silverware with Dortmund

Thomas Meunier believes Borussia Dortmund are capable of winning titles in the coming years.
Thomas Meunier is aiming to help Borussia Dortmund win silverware after joining the club on a four-year deal from Paris Saint-Germain.

"I'm ambitious. When I sign for a club, I want to have a chance of win something. I signed for Dortmund, because I believe we can win something - the cup, the championship or whatever," Meunier told BVB TV.

The 28-year-old talked to fellow Belgium internationals Axel Witsel and Thorgan Hazard before making the switch to Signal Iduna Park.

"Axel and Thorgan told me a lot about the club, the football, the group, the supporters. It's something new for me that I really want to discover," he said.

After helping to convince Hazard to join Dortmund in 2019, Witsel referred to himself as 'Agent Axel'. Asked how involved Witsel was this time around, Meunier responded with a smile:

"Five percent. His influence wasn't that high. Axel is very sincere. When I ask him about something, I know he's not lying. He said that it's a giant club.

"My choice was to come here anyway, but it was an extra bonus," Meunier said.
