Mijat Gacinovic and Steven Zuber to swap clubs?

Eintracht Frankfurt's Mijat Gacinovic and Hoffenheim's Steven Zuber could swap clubs.
Eintracht Frankfurt and Hoffenheim are in negotiations over a swap deal involving Mijat Gacinovic and Steven Zuber, according to reports from Germany.

Gacinovic, who is under contract with Frankfurt until 2022, struggled to nail down a regular starting spot at Commerzbank-Arena last season and was limited to just 11 Bundesliga starts.

Now, the 25-year-old appears to be ready to take on a new challenge at Hoffenheim, who should be willing to send Steven Zuber in the other direction. At Commerzbank-Arena, the versatile 28-year-old could relieve some of the pressure on Filip Kostic on the left side of the pitch.

However, according to Kicker, the two clubs are yet to agree a deal, with some important details left to be discussed. Among other things, it's possible that Frankfurt want Hoffenheim to pay an additional fee since Gacinovic is three and a half years younger than Zuber, who is under contract until 2023.

Meanwhile, Frankfurt are set to say goodbye to Lucas Torro, who is expected to return to his former club Osasuna for around €2.5 million.

Frankfurt confirmed that Gacinovic and Torro weren't part of their squad for Saturday's friendly with Monaco because of ongoing negotiations with other clubs.
