RB Leipzig CEO on Dayot Upamecano and Nordi Mukiele: 'There's always a pain threshold'

RB Leipzig boss Oliver Mintzlaff has commented on the reported interest in Dayot Upamecano and Nordi Mukiele.
RB Leipzig CEO Oliver Mintzlaff says he can't categorically rule out selling the likes of Dayot Upamecano, who has caught the eye in the Champions League, and Nordi Mukiele, who is said to have attracted interest from Paris Saint-Germain.

While Mintzlaff fully expects the French duo to stay, he admits that the club will have to consider selling if an extraordinary offer comes in.

"There's always a pain threshold. If a completely unethical offer is made now, we have to think about it. But we don't expect this to happen at this time of crisis," Mintzlaff told Sportbuzzer.

Upamecano was heavily linked with a move away from RB Leipzig before recently signing a new contract until 2023, reportedly including a €42 million release clause, which will be active from next summer.

Mukiele, who joined RB Leipzig from Montpellier in 2018, is under contract until 2023 as well.
