RB Leipzig coach Julian Nagelsmann admits he was pleasantly surprised by Angelino following the left-back's arrival on loan from Manchester City in January.

Asked which player surprised him the most at RB Leipzig during the 2019/20 season, Nagelsmann told Sport Bild:

"Angelino. Not because he is good, we already knew that, but because he fit right in. We loaned him at the last minute in January. He played immediately without having trained, took on responsibility and played clever football."

'Die Roten Bullen' are now hoping to reach an agreement with Manchester City to keep the 23-year-old at Red Bull Arena.

Angelino has played 18 games for RB Leipzig, racking up a goal and five assists.
