Trapp, Gosens, Sané and Süle set to start for Germany against Spain

Kevin Trapp, Robin Gosens, Leroy Sané and Niklas Süle are all expected to be in Germany coach Joachim Löw's line-up for Thursday's encounter with Spain.
Germany coach Joachim Löw is planning to start Kevin Trapp, Robin Gosens, Leroy Sané and Niklas Süle when his team take on Spain in the UEFA Nations League in Stuttgart on Thursday.

Trapp will be in goal in the absence of Manuel Neuer (rested) and Marc-André ter Stegen (knee injury) while Leroy Sané and Niklas Süle are set to represent Germany for the first time in 2020 after sitting out with long-term injuries.

Gosens, a 26-year-old left-back, will be making his full international debut after receiving his first call-up to Löw's side.

"Robin Gosens will definitely be in the starting eleven. He's in good form and has played well. Kevin Trapp will be in goal. I'm also planning on starting Leroy Sané and Niklas Süle," Löw said at the pre-match press conference and added:

"I'm not sure whether we can make three or five substitutions. In any case, we have to look at the training rhythm and match fitness of the players. Surely, not everyone will be able to play 90 minutes."

The game kicks off on Thursday at 20.45 CET.
