Alphonso Davies and Leon Goretzka expected to be be fit to face Sevilla in the Super Cup

Alphonso Davies and Leon Goretzka should be able to overcome their injuries in time for Bayern München's Super Cup clash with Sevilla on Thursday, says head coach Hansi Flick.
Bayern München coach Hansi Flick provided an injury update on Alphonso Davies and Leon Goretzka following his side's 8-0 thrashing of Schalke 04 in the Bundesliga on Friday.

Davies sat out after having problems in training while Goretzka picked up a knock and hobbled off in the 51th minute, but Flick is confident both players will be fit to take on Sevilla in the European Super Cup on Thursday.

"Alphonso Davies had problems in the last two training sessions. He was given the green light to play 45 minutes. We didn't want to take any risks and still have a little time before we face Sevilla," said Flick.

"[Goretzka] was quick to signal that he couldn't keep on playing. But I don't think it's that bad. He should be available for Thursday."

It's unclear if David Alaba will be unavailable on Thursday after missing out on Friday's game due to muscular problems.

Bayern and Sevilla lock horns at the Puskas Arena in Budapest on Thursday at 21:00 CET.
