Report: Frederik Rønnow set to join Schalke 04 on loan from Frankfurt

Eintracht Frankfurt are reportedly ready to send Frederik Rønnow out on loan to Schalke 04.
Frederik Rønnow is poised to join Schalke 04 on loan from Eintracht Frankfurt, according to Danish media outlet B.T.

Rønnow will be making the switch to Veltins-Arena within the next 48 hours, as per the report.

The Danish international goalkeeper was first linked with Schalke on Saturday, with Bild suggesting that the 28-year-old could be involved in a swap deal with Markus Schubert.

Rønnow has been behind Kevin Trapp in the pecking order at Frankfurt since his move from Danish side Brøndby IF in 2018, making a total 21 appearances for the Bundesliga club.

Should the Dane complete his move to Schalke, he would compete with Ralf Fährmann for the number-one spot at Veltins-Arena.
