Wirtz and Grimaldo return to full training ahead of Leverkusen's second leg against Roma
After missing the match against Eintracht Frankfurt, Florian Wirtz and Alejandro Grimaldo took part in Bayer Leverkusen's final training session before Thursday's Europa League second leg against AS Roma.
Bayer Leverkusen received a boost ahead of their Europa League second leg clash with AS Roma as Alejandro Grimaldo and Florian Wirtz both trained with their teammates on Wednesday.
As a result, the star duo should be ready to start at the BayArena on Thursday, with Leverkusen going into the game with a 2-0 lead from the first leg in Rome.
Both were rested over the weekend and weren't in the squad that beat Eintracht Frankfurt 5-1 on Saturday.
Wirtz had been struggling with a thigh problem prior to the game, while Leverkusen coach Xabi Alonso handed Grimaldo a rare rest to keep him fresh.
