Santiago Ascacibar suffers new injury setback: 'It's a catastrophe and a pity'
After making good progress on his recovery from a foot problem, Santiago Ascacibar suffered a new injury setback on Monday. "It's a catastrophe and a pity for him and us," says Hertha coach Bruno Labbadia.
Hertha BSC midfielder Santiago Ascacibar was forced to pull out of training on Monday due to a thigh problem.
The 23-year-old has been plagued by foot problems following his move from Stuttgart in January and suffered a new injury setback on Monday.
"It's like a curse. When players come back from an injury or from a second injury like Santi, these problems always come back. It's a catastrophe and a pity for him and us. I hope it's not serious," Hertha coach Bruno Labbadia told Kicker.
Lukas Klünter also pulled out of the session, having picked up a knock following a challenge from Jaivairo Dilrosun, who was back in training after recovering from a hamstring problem.
