Hansi Flick responds to speculation linking Niklas Süle with Chelsea

FC Bayern coach Hansi Flick says he's happy with Niklas Süle's development amid speculation linking the centre-back with Chelsea.
Bayern München coach Hansi Flick has responded to rumors linking Niklas Süle with a move away from the club.

Asked about a report in today's edition of Sport Bild claiming that Chelsea are interested in the centre-back, whose contract expires in 2022, Flick responded:

"It is of course also nice for us when other clubs are interested in our players. At the moment, the defense is doing very well and Niklas is definitely an option, both in central defence and as a full-back.

"I'm very happy with his development. Niklas is a very fast player, who is very good on the ball, detached and with the ability to make an impact on the game from the back. His physical attributes are an absolute strength. That's why I'm glad he's in my team.

"He has a contract with us until 2022. We will see how it develops, how and where he sees his future."

Süle, 25, has played for Bayern since 2017 when he made the switch to Allianz Arena from Hoffenheim. He has made 20 appearances this season, notching up two goals.
