Nübel wants to play more or head out on loan, reiterates agent

Alexander Nübel wants to play more at Bayern München or head out on loan, his agent has reiterated.
Alexander Nübel's agent, Stefan Backs, has once again put Bayern München under pressure to give his client more playing time or send him out on loan for the 2021/22 season.

With club captain Manuel Neuer ahead of him in the pecking order, the 24-year-old goalkeeper has been limited to just three appearances following his summer move from Schalke 04.

Backs already revealed at the beginning of March that Nübel isn't satisfied with his current situation, suggesting a loan move could benefit the goalkeeper's progress, and he has now reiterated his client's desire to play more.

"Of course, a loan is an option. He isn't getting any better on the bench," Backs said in an interview with Sport1.

"It was clear to us that Alex would play his current role for a year, even if he should play at least five or six more games from my point of view. But he can't have another year like this, because playing time is essential when you're a young player.

"At the time the transfer came about, Bayern München showed a possibility within the club. But Manuel Neuer then went on to play at an incredible level, and the club won all possible titles. Therefore, a different situation has now occurred than one might have thought."
