Bayer Leverkusen scout Brazil starlet for Bundesliga transfer
The Santos youth product, who just turned 19 at the start of the year, has attracted interest from all over Europe.
Kaio Jorge is a name that popped up last year due to his remarkable performances for Santos – going on to make 48 appearances and scoring 9 goals in the 2019/20 season.
Bayer Leverkusen are said to be frontrunners along with Inter Milan for the Brazil U20 international's signature – according to football outlet Kicker.
He has been regularly scouted for much of the previous and current season and is likely to move to Europe, where he can further develop into a world-class player.
His contract with Santos expires at the end of this year, making him a likely free transfer, given he chooses not to extend his contract and see out one or two more years in Brazil.
According to transfermarkt, Jorge has a net market value of €12m – making him easily accessible for Leverkusen, who will face the challenge of Inter Milan, Chelsea, Arsenal, Juventus and PSG’s lure.
