Leverkusen confirm Palacios also out for Copa America
Leverkusen confirmed on Friday evening that Argentine prospect Exequiel Palacios suffered another major injury setback, cutting his 2020/21 season at just nine appearances.
The 22-year-old is also out for this summer's Copa America after a tear in his right abductor looks to sideline him for eight weeks.
One of Peter Bosz's prize transfers from the January 2020 window won't be suiting up for Leverkusen or his national side until next autumn. Exequiel Palacios only just completed a comeback from a nasty triple fracture on international duty this autumn. Now he faces another long layoff after finding favor and a regular place in the lineup under Werkself interim trainer Hannes Wolf.

It had already been revealed that Palacios, along with several others, would be unavailable for this weekend's fixture against 1. FC Union Berlin. The severity of the injury was revealed later in the day.
