Leverkusen want to keep Tapsoba amid Arsenal talk

Edmond Tapsoba has been linked with a move to Arsenal, but Bayer Leverkusen are expecting to keep the centre-back beyond the summer.
Bayer Leverkusen sporting director Simon Rolfes has downplayed reports linking Edmond Tapsoba with a move away from the club.

Arsenal, among others, are said to be interested in the highly-rated centre-back, but Leverkusen have no plans of letting him go, according to Rolfes.

"Edmond is expected to play a very important role for us next season as well," Rolfes told Bild.

Tapsoba, 22, is still under contract with Leverkusen until 2026. He joined 'Die Werkself' from Portuguese side Vitória Guimarães SC in January 2020 and has gone on to make 61 appearances for the Bundesliga side.
