Witsel 'surprised' by Borussia Dortmund's young team

Axel Witsel admits he was surprised when he found out how young his teammates at Borussia Dortmund are.
After joining Borussia Dortmund, Axel Witsel has become one of the more experienced players in a squad consisting of many young starlets.

The 29-year-old admits he was initially surprised about the average age of his new teammates.

"We have a very talented team. I've never played in a team this young before. I was surprised when I asked the players how old they are. They said '17' or '18', and I thought: 'Oh I'm 29,'" Witsel told Sky.

Generally, the Belgium international is pleased with life at Dortmund so far.

"I feel fine. The first few weeks have been good. The players and the fans in the stadium have welcomed me. I'm happy to be here," he said.

Witsel has made four appearances for Dortmund, scoring two goals.
