Nagelsmann hoping to work with Goretzka for 'many years'

Julian Nagelsmann admits he would like to have Leon Goretzka at his disposal for 'many years' at Bayern München.
New Bayern München coach Julian Nagelsmann is hoping that Leon Goretzka will sign a long-term extension to his current deal, which expires in 2022.

"Of course, he's a very important player," Nagelsmann admitted at his first press conference as Bayern coach when asked about the 26-year-old midfielder.

"I would be very happy to work with him for many years of what I hope will be an emerging era," added Nagelsmann.

"He's one of the most dangerous midfielders in the world. We want him to stay."

FC Bayern chairman said earlier this week that he is 'optimistic' that Goretzka will put pen to paper on a new contract.
